On today's agenda, we will discuss some of the top spots to visit on the Limestone Coast - Many of which are located in my hometown, Mount Gambier. UMPHERSTON SINKHOLE One of my personal favourite places to visit when I travel back home is seeing this beautiful sunken garden. Stunning views from the platforms at the top of the sinkhole, but immerse yourself walking down into the sinkhole, within the hanging vines and garden beds. Plenty of room to bring a picnic rug or utilise the BBQ facilities within the sinkhole. If you find yourself there at dusk - you'll see some of the local colony of possums (they enjoy being fed fruit - no bread!). The Umpherston Sinkhole was once a limestone cave formed by the erosion of limestone rock by sea waves and formed naturally as the roof of the cave collapsed.
